1. Your first step to become Powered By Service is to figure out what you are good at, interested in and passionate about. Powered By Service is about using our unique gifts to make the world a better place. So, what are your gifts? Are you a singer? A dancer? A musician? Do you like to write? Are you good at motivating others? Can you manage projects well? Do you have a mind for business? USE OUR TOOLKIT TO HELP WALK YOU THROUGH HOW TO DETERMINE WHAT DIRECTION TO GO IN

2. Once you know the talents you have to contribute to your community, you are ready to pick an issue to address. Are you interested in global health? Maybe gang violence in your neighborhood has really started to cause serious problems? Perhaps you sit in class each day and just wish your school was different. Are you passionate about the environment and want to help clean the air or water?

3. And, last, you put the two together. Specifically what kind of project can you lead to change the issue you care about? Don’t worry; we are not going to send you out there without the tools and resources you need.

Once you SIGN-UP to be Powered By Service you can access tip sheets to help you plan your project. Then you can apply for grants of $500 to implement your project. Right now we are accepting grants from any youth in Atlanta, GA, Detroit, MI, Los Angeles, CA, Milwaukee, WI, New Orleans, LA and New York, NY. ADDITIONALLY, if you are working with one of our national or international partners like HandsOn Network or City Year, you are eligible as well. Just remember to indicate which partner you are working with. We are adding communities EVERYDAY so check back often to see if your community has been added to the list.
